BU-1106: Author's Creed

We are sent to this earth to fulfill an ordained purpose, an obligation and a service to humanity that, if properly carried out, dwells above acquiring wealth and fame. For material wealth does not bring true joy and happiness; serving others does. My endeavor is to make this world a better place by providing a stepping-stone to guide the next generation and by helping in technological advancements. It pleases me if my modest contributions can help others.

I've owned maybe 20 cars and other motor equipment in my 53 years driving, and have experienced about every battery-related problem I can think of...never really understood lead-acid cell chemistry, so I likely replaced dozens of batteries that could have been resurrected. Then about three years ago I discovered two things: this site, and desulfating.chargers Your lessons have given me a basic understanding of what goes on in the batteries, especially as they get older, and I'm much more likely to find a way to rejuvenate a battery than to simply use it as a "hull" to reduce the cost of the next new battery. To avoid acid stratification, I've used your advice to gently shake the battery from side to side for a few seconds, and my test results have been more consistent, less confusing. I use a quality charger when I need a fairly rapid charge, and I use desulfating chargers, first to desulfate older batteries that have gotten weak, and then I have a couple of solar-powered units that maintain the batteries on on all my off-grid ranch equipment (cat 2 tractor, Yamaha Rhino, Ford pickup, and the wive's riding mower), especially through the winter when all the vehicles sit virtually unused for four months (we do use the tractor to plow snow for a quarter mile, once or twice a winter). All the batteries are at least two years old, some are three or four, and all are in good shape each spring, when we get back to work (...knock wood). I know they won't last forever, but it's sure an improvement over the life expectancy I was experiencing before I found you and BatteryMINDer. Thanks.

I am starting an information/affiliate site for lithium batteries and solar chargers. I would like to use your figure 1 under "Charging Lithium-ion". I would add color to the chart. I would provide a link to your site for those who want more information. I have a technical background so I would use my own words for the other content. Please let me know if this would be Okay.
